Our missions
From mid-December to early April, we maintain and secure daily the 40 km of cross country skiing trails (cross country = classique and nordic = skating)), as well as the 27km of snowshoe paths.
We welcome 2,000 students (from kindergarten to high school) from surrounding schools, to allow them to learn cross country skiing, Nordic skiing and biathlon.
We also offer an equipment rental service: cross country skis, snowshoes, sledges.
Welcome and tourist information
Every day, during the winter season and on weekdays, the rest of the year, our staff will be able to inform our visitors about activities in Naves and the surrounding areas.
Local activities
Throughout the year, we organize various events to liven up the local life the area: cultural, sporting, alternative or folkloric, etc.
La Valdingue
Nordic Olympics in a crazy and offbeat style to end the winter season/ BBQ, DJ and concert in the evening;
3rd weekend of March
La Navelotte
mountain bike trip, registered at the calendar of Rando d’Or of the French Cycling Federation;
Whit weekend.
The Beaufort festival
the making of Beaufort and old-fashioned sérac (a type of cottage cheese), the farmers’ and artisans’ market, entertainment;
1st weekend of August.
The Cortis d’en haut
harvest festival featuring ecological gardening conference, farmers’ market, sale of vegetables from local gardeners;
1st weekend of September.
Management of accommodations
In order to contribute to the development of the tourist accommodation in Naves, we have two lodgings for rent:
Gîte Le Tilleul: 12 people; 4 « Epis » Gîtes de France
Gîte de la MMN: 2 people
Development of tourist activities throughout the year
We are committed to develop our area for all seasons and to offer activities outside of winter. In that aim, we rely on the wide range of activities available in the Naves valley:
Mountain biking: Naves has been certified by the French Cycling Federation: we have 10 marked out cyclo-cross loops + 1 enduro
Hiking: Naves is part of the Grand Tour de Tarentaise Vanoise and the Tour du Beaufortain.
Paragliding: launch area at the Lake Bozon and landing area at the Tovet plateau.
Climbing: the Roche des Foyères site in Naves Fontaine allows you to climb routes ranging from 4c to 6b
